Uprising is the sequel to Legendary Pictures’ original kaiju epic, Pacific Rim (2013). While it features misleading, unfortunate trailers like the one above, Uprising swings in from out of nowhere with more moxy than all the Transformers sequels [critics keep comparing it to] combined. The biggest failing for this film is the advertising campaign – which depicts a movie most will dismiss before seeing. Don’t! We made that mistake and are happy to be raucously, pleasantly surprised. The entire press audience in the theater was along for the ride, and all smiles when exiting. That’s what matters.
