Has this week been insane or what? And we aren’t even to the main events at SDCC yet!

A fellow fan by the name of Kaiju D’amato sent me an email today containing the following info:

Just for craps and giggles, I tore apart a copy of the Godzilla Encounter app – haven’t looked through the source code for any hidden surprises as such, but from what I could guess from the images being used, it’s basically a “scavenger hunt” type app that rewards you with a nice piece of production art… It’s 3 megabytes large, so while I couldn’t get a good size scale on my phone, I’d be willing to bet it can be used as a nice desktop wallpaper… Was a little disappointed that it was only one piece and a few close ups of it, but maybe there will be some updates between now and SDCC? Since it seems that guests are supposed to flash the app at Legendary Pictures logos, perhaps there’s an augmented reality component that I’m missing…

Attached to the email is the first official piece of Legendary’s GODZILLA concept art – and its pretty damn cool! The recently released GEncounters app will be revealing this image piece by piece – but we have an exclusive first look here. Click to enlarge!

EXCLCONCEPTARTLEGOJI

This piece of art definitely represents a classic scene that we’ve all seen in several Goji films – including the last American remake. Looks intense, no? Seems as if they’re definitely going for the extreme as far as size is concerned.

Stay tuned for plenty more this week at SDCC!
