Hey all, Jon @ UnCanny here.

It may be brief. It may be vague. But words hath been spoken.

Gareth Edwards, Director of the indie smash ‘Monster’ and helmer of Legendary’s upcoming Godzilla remake/rehash/reboot, spoke at London’s KAPOW! Comic Conference, having this to say:

“It’s going great and I’m genuinely excited about it. We’re just working really hard with Legendary, who have been fantastic. Thomas Tull has just been an absolute pleasure and nothing like the experience they warn you about when you go to Hollywood. I can’t say much other than I hope that we’ll have some proper news soon. So you won’t have to wait too long at all.”

Take that for what you will. I, for one, am treating this as substantial simply on the grounds that we haven’t heard ZILCH about this film in months. I’m just glad to hear that it is in fact still under works, and in (seemingly) good hands.

So what we have here, in essence, is an update for an update. An announcement announcement, if you will. And for this life long Godzilla fanatic – that’s all I need. Here’s to hoping we get that promised news very soon! We’ll have it as soon as it hits the airwaves.

Take care, and until next time!
