Hey all, Jon @ UnCanny here with one of the most exciting write-ups I’ve done in a good while!

1897700_10152129011556633_2450410776103630639_n2014 has indeed delivered thus far, given its title of “The Year of Godzilla”, and even more so May has become the “Month of Godzilla”! Blu Rays, posters, action figures, graphic novels, t-shirts – every possible piece of merchandising is popping up all over the world in anticipation for the Big Guy’s Legendary return to the big screen!

Its been a while since I’ve done a proper write up, given that the news for the upcoming film and related merchandising has spun out of control. It seems we are getting a new trailer or clip every day now. In all honesty, I have chosen not to post all of the clips – as I don’t want to be spoiled in the least on this film – and would rather not spoil everyone else. But hey, maybe thats just me. In light of that, I’ve decided to put together one hell of a Collector’s Update for you dudes (with a little help from Amazon.com, of course): An ultimate list of the awesomeness that has taken us G-Fans by storm! And of course, you can click on each graphic I’ve assembled to purchase these goods from Amazon or Flossies Gifts. Now strap in your seat belts and hide your wallets, because here comes the goodness!

Most of the fandom was counting on this year seeing the release of some classics to high definition Blu Rays, and “The Year of Godzilla” didn’t disappoint. We’ve now got readily available HD versions of Showa, Heisei, and Shinsei classics all over the internet – and even available in places as common as Wal-Mart! Gamera and King Kong are here, too!

I am as excited for a full new Godzilla score as I am for the film itself. The music from the original films fills my head on a constant basis, and I listen to it regularly. From what I have heard so far, Alexandre Desplat has put together a wondrously old-school yet brooding composition that I cannot wait to experience in full. It hits (like much of the other merchandise for the film) on May 13th.

Here’s a few other items I’m truly excited for – specifically The Art of Destruction. Godzilla concept art? Count me in! We’ve also got an incredible selection of graphic novels to choose from now, as well as some incredible historical works from fandom experts like Sean Linkenback and kaiju guru August Ragone. Its a damn good time to be a fan.

My personal favorite section, of course. Diamond’s reissues of classic X-Plus 30cm sculpts continue to sell like hotcakes, so make sure to pre-order upcoming waves with haste. And no matter how old I am, I’ll still always be excited to see Godzilla toys on the shelves of stores. The two foot tall Legendary Godzilla by Jakks Pacific is sitting on my coffee table right now in all of his enormous majesty! Right now retailers are full of G merchandise, most of which can be bought at great prices online. Check your local comic book shops for more specific releases like the vinyl banks. Or, as stated, click the images to order these items from Amazon, etc.

NECA 12″ Head to Tail Godzilla 2014 Poseable Action Figure retails for $18.99 at Toys R Us, and other specialty stores, online and off.

I was expecting stores to carry prints of some of the earlier posters, but I never expected so many artistic variants to pop up! There’s a ton of killer posters for the film now, all of which you can find literally everywhere online, and in a lot of local stores like Hot Topic, Wal-Mart, etc. Honestly, there are too many to list here. If you want to purchase some online, click the graphic below. Otherwise, check out the gallery on our Legendary’s GODZILLA page here at Skreeonk!

Want T-Shirts, phone covers, or messenger bags? What about a coffee mug w the Big G plastered on the side? Look no further than the official WBshop.com. They’ve got too much cool stuff to list separately, so just click the graphic below to browse their store!

The amazing thing is – there’s even more merchandise that I haven’t listed above! Keep your eyes peeled for Godzilla party favors, cups, notebooks, and even costumes this Halloween! What a 60th anniversary its been for the King so far, and we’re just getting started!

The film opens with advanced screenings this coming Thursday, May 15th. I can’t believe it! And I know I’ve said it a thousand times but I’m going to say it again –

Its a damn good time to be a fan.
