Happy Friday, fandom! Jon D. B. here with tons of new exciting footage for KONG SKULL ISLAND.
If you haven’t been keeping up with this film you are in for a treat. SKULL ISLAND flew under the radar for a few years but Legendary has made quite the impact with the film’s ramped up marketing campaign as of late. The past months have seen some terrific trailers, posters, and now banners & TV spots for the March 10th release – and we’ve got the newest for you here!
Below are four fresh TV trailers, each sporting all-new footage packed with incredible shots of Kong himself and all his upcoming adversaries. ‘Skull-crawlers’ are in full force here, as well as a glimpse of a giant octopus, something classic Toho fans will relish (modern day Oodaku, anyone?). To top it all off, King Kong himself looks phenomenal; it looks as if Legendary has delivered yet again and spared no expense on the special effects – But don’t just take our word for it:
These terrific new spots give us our first real information on how Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson’s characters will interact with Kong; Hiddleston’s Captain James Conrad being an expert tracker and Larson’s photo journalist Weaver becoming the ape’s apex blonde crush. On that note – if we’re excited for anything in this film it’s the cast. Larson & Hiddleston are fantastic on their own, but once you add in legends like John Goodman & Samuel L. Jackson alongside John C. Reily the bar is raised.
Long story short: We cannot wait to see this film! If you missed it, we’ve included the official final trailer for you as well:
KONG SKULL ISLAND hits theaters March 10th, 2017 and is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Legendary’s forming ‘Monsterverse’ will decide who the true King of the Monsters is when their Kong and Godzilla clash in 2020’s Godzilla vs. King Kong.
Until then we’re here with you along for the ride as always!
