Hollywood Reporter shared the wonderful news early Friday morning as TOHO’s modern Godzilla masterpiece, SHIN-GOJIRA, swept the 40th annual Japan Academy Prize Awards.
SHIN took a staggering SEVEN awards home, including BEST PICTURE. The film’s acclaimed directors, Hideaki Anno and longtime Toho/Godzilla veteran Shinji Higuchi, were awarded the coveted BEST DIRECTOR prize together. HR’s report brings much welcomed mainstream recognition to the film’s top two awards. The film, however, took home seven awards in total!
