The wait intensifies!
Add two more months to your countdown for GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS. The sequel will now release on May 31st, 2019 – instead of March 22nd. Word is Warner Bros. needed a summer tentpole to kick off the season with, and it is genuinely good news they’ve got enough faith in KOTM to push it to such a coveted spot.
Confirmation comes via Toho Kingdom on Twitter:
Godzilla: King of the Monsters will now be released on May 31st, 2019 instead of March 22nd, 2019.
More than five years will have passed since Legendary’s initial Big-G reboot by the time KOTM hits theaters next year. Aside from that being super-hard to believe, the excitement is real. Ready to see Godzilla go up against a Hollywood Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah? Of course you are!
These extra 2 months are going to be tough, but a Summer Prime Time spot definitely does sound really great!
Definitely, with you on that! Can’t get here soon enough.
