One look at those eyes tells us everything we need to know about this new Godzilla.

The King of the Monsters returns this November, and excitement for Minus One is through the roof. In kind, Toho has released new images to further fuel the hype.

Typically, this is a small enough update to post to social media for a quick share. But would you look at those eyes:

I’m a naturalist by profession. And one look at those eyes reminds me immediately of a large monitor lizard – with a dash of humanity. Combined with the incredible textures on Godzilla’s skin, it looks like he’s being completely returned to “creature of nature” origins.

This is tremendously exciting (to me, at least), as is this photo. The rest of Toho’s latest images are less exciting, but still striking. Each captures a pivotal trailer moment, with the final release being a new poster/banner.
