I’m back again with some images from my X-Plus Toho 30cm Series Kiryu vinyl figure review from Kaiju Addicts.
I was wondering how well X-Plus was going to be able to translate the Machine Dragon from “Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS”, 2003 (ゴジラ×モスラ×メカゴジラ SOS) and, well, there’s nothing to fear. They did a great job of capturing every detail on Kiryu and every little machine part thingy is totally straight, round, etc. just as well as if it had been molded in a hard plastic or resin.
This is the Standard Edition. (The Ric Boy version comes with the back and arm units. See Rich Eso’s video review of the Ric Boy Kiryu here.) Click on any of these images to make ’em big.
Kiryu 2003 is scaled properly with the X-Plus Godzilla 2003 released in 2010. Just in case you missed the original release of Godzilla: they’re taking preorders right now for a re-issue due out in late December 2013.
The X-Plus Kiryu 2003 is 12.5 inches high, 7.5 inches wide and 13.75 inches long. Here it’s pictured beside the S.H. Monsterarts Kiryu 2002.
Here are some Photoshop-enhanced photos of the figure:
Maisa, Hasha! (Did I spell that right?)
